A selection of book ends, in bronze, spelter, ceramic, wood and marble.

A pair of porcelain figural bookends by Genvane for Faiences et porcelaines de Saint Amand et Hamage. Modelled as Pierrot and Columbine and with the printed Orchies factory marks and signed RXB. Each measures 8 inches long and 4.5 inches deep and 7.5 inches high. Condition is good but the lady has one small chip on the edge of the base. The same bookends can be viewed in the Sotherbys catalogue of 12/10/04, page 108 valued at £700 - £900 + commissions.

A pair of wooden dove bookends, measuring 8.5 x 7 x 4 inches. Unusually stylised birds, hand carved. Only damage appears to be a chip to one fan on the back of the bird.

Another cute pair of craquelier squirrel bookends in cream glaze by Le Jan. Each measures 7.5 inches long by 3.5 inches deep and 7.5 inches high and is signed to the corner of the base. These can be viewed in the Keramische Dieren craquelier book page 73. Condition is very good.

A pair of post war silvered metal bookends modelled as tennis racket and ball attached to plate metal uprights and probably made in the 1950s. They measure 5.5 inches high, 3 inches deep and 3.5 inches long.

A lovely pair of French spelter bookends with original bronzed and green patina. They are mounted on 6.5 inch long wood bases with canted corners, with a height of 5 inches - condition is exceptional and very original.

A pair of spelter and marble bookends signed in the metal by M. Font. The bases are of a grey, granite type marble measuring 6 inches long by 2.5 inches deep and have canted edges to the front face. The spelter ladies are green patinated nudes, in kneeling position. There is some patina flaking to the metal, but the condition of the bases is fine, with practically no nibbles or chips. Total height is almost 7 inches.

F2313: This group of small figures consists of one small spelter dancer (left). She has her original gold enamelled patina and measures 7 inches high and mounted on an onyx base 4 inches by 3 inches. Condition is good. £340

A pair of cute French spelter bookends of a dog and cat, mounted on Portorro marble bases. They have their original bronzed patina and measure 6 inches long by 3.5 deep and approx. 5 inches high. Condition is basically good, but the base under the dog has been cracked/repaired at sometime, hence £275

Lovely rare and unusual French spelter Bookens of Panthers ready to pounce off of a rock edge. They have a bronzed patina and are mounted on rocks which are actually made of alabaster and measure 5.5 inches wide X3 inches deep whilst the back section is 4 inches high. Condition is good with some minor wear and ageing as one would expect.

An unusual set of European bookends as dominos and dice, mounted on sienna marble bases measuring 5.5 inches long, 3 inches deep and 4 inches high. Condition is pretty good with just a couple of minor marble nicks.
