'Lively Harlequin' by Bouraine
A wonderful silvered bronze theatrical dancer by Marcel Bouraine. The famous harlequin - she is dancing with a tricorn hat and a mask in her hand, and a clowns head on her foot. Total height is 15 inches (38cm) and the base is of Rosso Red marble in a pyramid shape. Signed Bouraine to the base, there is also a date enscribed on the back 1933-1943 which might suggest that is was presented to someone as a gift for service rendered. It is also stamped bronze under the foot. Condition is very good and original.

The Three Graces by Pierre Laurel
A famous large bronze figural group - The Three Graces, a theme from Greek mythology, the three daughters of Zens and Eurynome, named Aglaia (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth) and Thalia (Good Cheer). They preside over banquets and theatrical performances - hence the mask on the central bronze mount. A trio of beautiful bronze dancing girls mounted on a large verdigris marble base measuring 20 inches by 5.75 inches deep. To the sides are cast bronze floral panels with the aforementioned theatrical mask. Signed Pierre Laurel to the marble - a rare and beautiful group of exceptional quality. I also have Farandole by Laurel (another group of 3 dancers) and several other Laurel single bronze dancers.
