Glass Page 1
Pages 5 and 6 of this section contain a selection from a contemporary line which we are offering. These items are re-cast pieces made from the original 1920s/30s Schlevogt moulds. In 1934 Henry Schlevogt, a Czechoslovakian artisan, introduced a line of art glass under the name of 'Ingrid', which was named after his daughter. He employed the finest craftsmen of his day, and his business was extremely successful. Sadly in 1939, due to the outbreak of WWII, his success came to an abrupt halt. Schlevogt fled Czechoslovakia leaving his moulds behind and they were seized by the Nazis. The moulds were released by the Czechoslovakian government in recent years and sold. The items indicated on these pages have been made using the original moulds and each design is created in a limited edition. Schlevogt married the daughter of Heinrich Hoffman, who himself was one of the foremost designers of Czech perfume bottles and other glass in the early 20th century, and came from a long line of glass producers. Hoffman, and later his son-in-law, greatly influenced the bohemian glass industry with their new ideas, designs and methods. I have several original czech glass item as well as these but obviously they are more expensive.

This section is our selection of glass items from the deco period, all original 1920s-1930s unless otherwise stated.

Vers la Jour was a model created for Worth Perfumes in 1926. A clear & frosted scent bottle in graduating red to yellow waves of flattened circular form, moulded with chevron patterns - unfortunately missing its stopper. Moulded 'Worth' to the front and moulded 'R.Lalique France' under the base. Measuring 3.5 inches high in good condition. A similar bottle can be viewed with its stopper in Christies catalogue of 12/5/2000 valued at £900-£1500.

Very rare stylish geometric floral vase made of frosted glass with wonderful
very Deco stylised floral detail hand painting around it. It measures 10
inches (26cm) high and is signed on the side with the initials that I
believe are ER?. The colours are spectacular in bright yellow, red, white,
navy and turquoise. The condition is very good with just a slight roughness
to the edge rim, probably like it from new.

A lovely decanter with palmtree etching detail to the front and back, and 6 matching glasses. Decanter measures 5.5 inches wide by 9 inches high, has no markings but probably Czech or French and condition is very good.

Pale blue vitrolite glass box and lid which measures 6 inches square and is in very good condition.

Wonderful quality glass by Daum and hand painted and finished by Leune. It measures 6 inches high and has a wonderful geometric floral enamelling in blues, greens, white and black. Condition is excellent. - £360
A French Daum style Leune dish, width approx 5.5 inches and with wonderful hand painted uranium glass dish signed Leune. Condition is very good. - £260
An orange Daum glass vase with handpainted detail to the lid and measuring approx 4 inches in diameter. Condition is very good. - £260

Lovely French glass vase by the Etling foundry of Paris and signed to the bottom. It measures 5 inches (12cm) high and is beautifully hand painted in vivid blue, yellow, orange and purple enamel painted floral detail. Condition is good.
Another lovely piece of Czech leaded and cut glassware. Decanter and
alas only 3 glasses. With red enamelled and etched flower detailing, and
also gold geometric panels.
Czech leaded cut glass decanter set, with six glasses, having red
enamel and etched flower detail. A real quality piece and very
heavy.

Signed opaque glass bookends from France mounted on black glass bases. Condition is good with a couple of very minor nicks to the bases. Each show some signs of old glue around the base of the birds, so may have been refixed to the bases at some time. 6 inches high (15cm).
