Female Bust by Demetre Chiparus
French terracotta bust of a beautiful lady, signed D. H. Chiparus in the clay to the back. I believe it is highly likely that this bust is modelled as his wife Julienne Lullier. There is a portrait of her at the back of the Chiparus book and it looks very similar to this bust. It is sitting loosely on its original wooden base and measures 13.5 inches (34cm) high. In extremely good condition.

For more information on this item please see the book 'Les Craqueles Art Deco', page 238 for one in plain ceramic. This model is by Georges Lavroff and was produced by the Sevres Company of Paul Milet. Its title is Tigre Tapi.
