Rare Czech Wall Plaque
This large and wonderful 1930s plaque must surely have been designed by Karl Grossl. Measuring approx. 10.5 inches square (25cm), it has a green-black glaze to the dish and the mask has a matt terracotta skin finish with orange curls to the hair and flowers. Stamped Czechoslovakia to the reverse and in good condition but one curl has been off and put back at some time (just to the left of centre). Other than this there is no damage or other repairs. I have another plaque very similar which was designed by Karl Grossl in the 1930s for Keramia. Email me for pics of Plq691 to make comparisons. They actually make a nice pair as they are the same size and handed.
